The Fiesole Collection Development Retreat will take place in Tübingen, Germany, from 13-15 April 2026, themed "May You Live in Interesting Times: Access and sustainability - developing strategies to deal with uncertainties." We are pleased to welcome Richard Ovenden OBE, Bodley’s Librarian, as our Keynote Speaker.
Opening with a preconference dedicated to accessibility, responsible technology and sustainable resources, organised by our hosts, the University of Tübingen, the conference will focus on four main themes: "Does Reading Matter (Anymore)?", "Collection as Data", "Preserving Integrity", and "Collections Development under Constraint", exploring how libraries and research institutions are adapting to shrinking budgets, AI innovation, and the rise of Open Science. The programme concludes with a collaborative workshop led by the Council on Library & Information Resources.
